1981 1 Oz Kennesaw Mint The General Round BU

Rare round from the Kennesaw Mint.

Obverse: The central image on the obverse is an etching of a train called "The General", which has local ties to the Kennesaw area. The upper inscription bears the name of the mint, "THE KENNESAW MINT INC", while the date "1981" is located at the bottom. The name of the train, "THE GENERAL", is found immediately below the central image. Seven stars, four to the left and three to the right, decorate the outer border. 

Reverse: The central feature on the reverse is the logo for Kennesaw Mint. It contains the letters "K" and "M" with a period over the right-most leg of the "M". The upper inscription denotes the weight of "ONE TROY OUNCE" while the lower inscription specifies the purity and content of ".999 FINE SILVER". Six stars, three on either side, decorate the outer rim.
