1980 1 Oz Crabtree Mint Duck Club Round BU

Duck Club rounds were produced for two years, 1980 and 1981. Somewhat scarce vintage collectible round. 

Obverse: The obverse depicts a whimsical image of a duck driving a bi-plane. The duck sports a scarf and a WWII leather flying helmet. Clouds float lazily in the background. The inscription at the top of the round reads "THE DUCK CLUB". The purity of ".999" is located at the lower right and the weight of "ONE TROY OZ." is inscribed at the bottom. The tail of the plane bears the initials "RW" and the year "80" is micro-inscribed underneath the rear fuselage.  

Reverse: The reverse depicts the common reverse found on many Crabtree Mint rounds. It is a divisible reverse with the upper half divided into two 1/4 Oz pieces and the lower half being 1/2 Oz. The 1/4 Oz pieces are each inscribed with "1/4 OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER". The 1/2 ounce specifies the weight and composition as "1/2 OZ. .999 FINE SILVER". Below the phrase to the left is the image of a tree with the words "CRABTREE MINT / PARADISE, CALIF." inscribed to its right.
