Description
Obverse: The central image on the obverse is a replica postage stamp from 1940 commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Pony Express. The inscription at the top reads "THE PONY EXPRESS" and immediately below "OUR POSTAL HERITAGE". The dates i"1860-1978" are located at the bottom and the inscription immediately above them reads "RUSSELL MAJORS AND WADDELL SERVING AMERICA". Sprigs of ivy decorate the lower left and lower right of the round.
Reverse: The reverse features a textual inscription relating to the Pony Express. Beneath the inscription is the seal used by the Pony Express during its 10 months of existence.
Edge: The edge is reeded except for a small smooth space which contains a serial number and the purity and content of ".999 F.S.".
