1974 1 Oz El Paso Mint Eagle/Globe Round BU

This is one of only two types of rounds known to have been minted by the El Paso Mint. Mintages are unknown, but the round is uncommon. 

Obverse: The obverse depicts an eagle sitting atop a globe. A banner underneath the globe reads "WORLD 1974 TRADE". The weight and composition of "ONE TROY OUNCE PURE SILVER 999 FINE" is inscribed around the outer rim. 

Reverse: The reverse depicts a loose representation of the reverse side of the Great Seal of Texas. The central shield has been replaced with a bow tying the flags together. A circle replaces the live oak and olive branches found on the Great Seal. The mint's name, "EL PASO MINT" and location, "EL PASO, TEXAS" are inscribed in the circle. The unfurled flags of France, Spain, Mexico, the Republic of Texas, the Confederate States of America, and the United States of America are represented. Above the image, centered between the flags, is a five-pointed star. Seven five-pointed stars can be found along the lower rim.
