Hard to find the Certified Mint Alaska Pipeline round. Certified Mint produced a set of 12 rounds from 1974 through 1977 commemorating the building of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. A single round was minted in 1974. Four rounds were made each year for 1975 and 1976. The final three rounds were minted in 1977. Stated production for the complete set was 20,000. However, only 18,000 rounds were minted in 1974.
Obverse: The obverse depicts an oil worker guiding a pipe into place. Oil rigs dot the landscape in the background. The date "1974" is inscribed prominently above the oil worker. An upper inscription that reads "IN COMMEMORATION OF THE" is completed by the lower inscription of "TRANS-ALASKA PIPELINE".
Reverse: The reverse is simple, consisting only of four lines of text decreasing in size. The lines of text contain the name of the mint "CERTIFIED MINT", the weight of "ONE TROY OUNCE", the purity ".999+ FINE", and the composition "SILVER".
