Obverse: The central image is the silver trade unit, a common motif from rounds of this era. Below the scale are five busts representing people from all five continents. The term "UNIVERSARO" is inscribed above the scale the date "1973" is located beneath the busts.

Reverse: The central feature on the reverse is the M & B logo (a stylized Omega) resting above the Mercanti globe. The phrase "WORLD TRADE" is split by the logo. A larger phrase "ONE SILVER" is inscribed at the top and is completed by the term "UNIVERSARO" at the bottom. Sheaves of wheat decorate the right and left edges of the round. The composition of ".999 FINE SILVER" can be found below the globe and the weight of "ONE TROY OUNCE 31.1 GRAMS" is inscribed immediately beneath the composition.
