The first year of production for dated rounds. Although no mint mark is present, the reverse on this round is one used exclusively by Hoffman & Hoffman in the 1970s.
Obverse: The obverse depicts several symbols and inscriptions with the design centered on a globe. A banner beneath the globe contains the phrase "WORLD TRADE" while the outer edge contains the content inscriptions of "ONE SILVER, EN ARGENT, UNA PLATA, EIN SILBER" and the equivalent text in Japanese. The purity is inscribed both above and below the globe with the phrases "999 FINE" and "99.9 % PURE". The date is inscribed at the bottom.
Reverse: The central feature of the reverse is the common motif of trade unit scales. The scales are flanked by coins on the left and a stalk of wheat on the right. The main inscription reads "THE INTERNATIONAL" at the top and is completed by "UNIVERSAL TRADE UNIT" at the bottom. The weight inscriptions are found immediately above and below the scales, with "ONE TROY OUNCE" above and "31.1 GRAMS / 480 GRAINS" below.
