Description
Nice collectible round produced by Mason Mint.
Obverse: The obverse depicts a stylized fish that has come to represent Jesus Christ in many Christian circles. The origin of the symbol rests in the green word for fish "IXTHUS" which is inscribed at the bottom. The word is an acrostic for "JESUS CHRIST SON OF GOD SAVIOR", the phrase inscribed at the top. The weight of "1 TROY OUNCE" is located at the lower left while the composition of ".999 FINE SILVER" can be found at the lower right.
Reverse: The central feature on the reverse is the text from John 3:16 which states "FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONE AND ONLY SON, THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHALL NOT PERISH, BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE". A cross is depicted at the top with light radiating from its center.
