1 Oz Chautauqua Through That Door Series No. 1 Round BU

There are nine rounds issued in the Through That Door series by Chautauqua Silver Works.  This thought-provoking series deals with life's challenges.  Mintages for the series were 2,500 for each issue.  This is the first round in the series.  The rounds are minted with a proof-like finish.

Obverse: The design on the obverse portrays nine doors in an arching pattern above the field. Below, a magnifying glass focuses on the first chapter of a book which reads “Through That Door – Chapter One.” The words "AWARENESS", "KNOWLEDGE", "INSIGHT", "WISDOM", "INTRIGUE", "THIRST", and "RESEARCH" are inscribed around the magnifying glass. The word "INQUISITIVE" is inscribed above a picture of a person's head located to the right. The designer's initials "RWK" are found along the rim at the lower left. Along the top, the word “JOURNEY” is inscribed with keys on either side and “No.1” is inscribed along the bottom. 

Reverse: The reverse of the round includes the common design element and logo used on many rounds from Chautauqua Silver Works. The bullseye design includes features of a rifle's scope. Inside the bullseye, the inscription "BULLSEYE AG 47" can be found. The weight, purity, and content of "ONE OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER" surrounds the bullseye. The upper inscription bears the name of the mint "CHAUTAUQUA SILVER WORKS"  and the lower inscription contains the motto "ONE MORE OUNCE, ONE LESS FETTER". 

Edge: The edge is reeded.  There is a flat surface at the bottom bearing a 4-digit serial number.
