Obverse: The design on the obverse features the ship USS Constitution. The wind fills the sails as the bow cuts a wake across the water. No text is present on the obverse.

Reverse: The central feature on the reverse is the scales, an image found on many trade unit silver rounds. The content "ONE TROY OUNCE" is inscribed above the scales and flanked by sprigs of ivy on either side. Directly below the scales is the mint mark "APM" and immediately below that is the purity of ".999 FINE SILVER". The phrase "SILVER TRADE UNIT" can be found on the outer circle below the purity inscription.
